New Beginning

Posted In: My Outfits

For me personally spring time not the 1st of January is the beginning of the year. I always feel so energised and full of ideas which usually leads to something new in my life. Maybe because the nature is awakening and I am inspired to do the same or maybe because I was born in spring but this time of the year is usually one of the most exciting and successful time of the year.

And this year is not an exception, just this time I am having a major change in my life which I want to share with you.

You probably have noticed that I wasn’t blogging as much as I used to which was an intentional break which I needed to reevaluate and find a new direction in my life.

As you probably know for the last couple of years I was putting all my efforts to make it as a fashion and personal stylist with a hope that it could be the only source of income. As for many other entrepreneurs in the beginning of their journey my fashion business was just a side hustle while I was still working somewhere else. And that somewhere else was coaching and preparing Chinese students for their careers in international companies. It was very rewarding and allowed me to focus on my passion but by the end of the last year I started feeling that it’s not enough. I felt really lost and frustrated as I didn’t know how to make a transition and focus entirely only on my business. Of course, quitting my job was always an option however I was scared and wasn’t sure if it was the best option and then the universe decided for me.

I started the year with an amazing trip to Thailand where I was hoping to relax and find the answers to all the questions I had. I had a fantastic time but I don’t think I found any clarity I was looking for. Nevertheless I came back rested and happy to continue my life the way it was just too try harder this time. And then the first day after my holiday I received an email saying that the company I was working for 6 years is going to be restructured and the position I had is no longer needed. I felt that all my life was falling apart. However very soon I realised this is the kick I needed to actually start my entrepreneurship journey. I was offered an alternative job role and I had a chance to stay somewhere I felt very comfortable or embrace the change and step out of my comfort zone which I did.

Through my experience as a career coach I witnessed how the right image completely changes one’s self esteem, enhancing individual performance in interviews and enabling people to achieve what they want. I want to use my passion for style and fashion expertise I have gained to make a difference in peoples’ lives. This is why I decided to focus on creating a successful international business image for students who wishes to enter a corporate world and young professionals wanting to take their career to the next level.
I also updated and improved my blog – you can already see the new layout and the new name Dress For The Life You Want which is much more suitable to the new concept I have in mind. I want to talk more about how to use style as a tool to achieve your dreams. I am still a strong believer that fabulous style leads to a fabulous life.

In fashion, like in life, it can be quite scary to step out of comfort zone and this is why so many of us stick to the same style over and over again. Pyjama trend which is so popular at the moment definitely requires a lot of courage. Satin trench coat I am wearing is the definitely one of these items that requires you to leave your comfort zone – it looks like a silk robe and it feels that you shouldn’t be leaving your house in it but if read fashion magazines you will know that it’s one of the it items this season.
Firstly, I was attracted to the duster’s colour – so vivid and bright. Then I loved the texture, there is something so glamorous about satin finish. But I wasn’t sure if I am going to wear it but I decided to try and I absolutely loved it. I like pairing the duster with a pair of jeans and killer heels which gives me this chic yet casual vibe. This duster would also look amazing as an evening coat for these cold spring nights when you still need something to cover up your going out dress. If it had buttons I would even wear it like a dress.
And so often in life, like in fashion, what we were afraid of ends up being the thing we just can’t live without. I am so happy and excited about the changes I recently experienced. It’s so easy to stick with what you know but not being afraid of trying something new is the only way forward.

I have to admit I was always so sceptical about the whole idea “things happen for a reason” but now I started believing in this.
