Christmas is just around a corner which poses myriad wardrobe dilemmas. From Christmas Eve to New Year’s Eve I prepared 5 outfits for the most magical and festive week of the year. The beauty of this time of the year is that you get to enjoy it with your loved ones. Those precious moments with your family seated around the table enjoying delicious Christmas meal with Christmas carols playing in the background and opening presents under the Christmas tree are truly special for me.
And in terms of fashion, Christmas is all about glitz and glamour, luxe fabrics, metallic embellishments and rich, jewel tones.
For me magical Christmas time starts on Christmas Eve. It’s family time so I always want to wear something cosy yet festive and head-to-toe metallic look is perfect for this. A shimmering pleated skirt is the focal point of the outfit and adds that glitz and glamour element to the look. Metallics are more subtle than sequins however it is just as eye-catching. With metallics seemed melted into fabrics, clothes appear glassy and liquid-like and they look even better when you move.
Wearing red on a Christmas day is not groundbreaking but it looks fabulous each time. For a more fashion forward look replace your traditional red dress with a jumpsuit.
Velvet is undoubtedly the fabric of this season. Its’ luscious and luxurious texture is particularly perfect for a party season. Aside from the fact that it is simply a pleasure to wear, velvet elevates even the simplest of pieces and brings a level of sophistication to every type of look from dressed up to casual. It’s a great way to elevate your look with a little touch of luxury.
After family festivities is time to meet your friends. Pairing jeans with a shimmery top, statement earrings and fabulous heels is the epitome of casual chic dressing. It’s a great look to wear for a brunch or drinks with your girlfriends.
Wearing a sequin dress for a New Year’s party is an obvious choice. It is a time of a year with all types of glistening objects – from twinkling holiday lights to shimmering snow (for some) on the ground. It just feel so right to incorporate this atmospheric glitz into our wardrobes. While many women are choosing sparkling little black dresses I would encourage to wear something more colourful. I just found so refreshing to wear light and bright colours during cold winter months and I absolutely fell in love with these green and gold sparkles on the dress I am wearing.
