3 Tips How To Find A High Quality Faux Fur Coat

Posted In: My Outfits

Few things are more fabulous than a fur coat— and they do double duty by keeping you warm while looking glamorous. Faux fur is no longer considered a cheaper alternative but a lush and equally desirable fluff. However it’s important to choose a high quality piece as not all faux fur items look and feel fabulous. Read on for easy tips to take into account when shopping.

Not all faux fur is created the same so it’s important to know what to look for when you are looking to buy a faux fur coat or accessories.

#1 Softness
The first thing you should do is touch the fur to see how soft it feels. Softness is a great indicator of quality – the softer it is, the better, since low-quality fur will often feel scratchy and uncomfortable against your skin.

#2 Elasticity
Another important factor is elasticity, meaning how quickly the fibres bounce back after being touched. A top-notch faux fur will quickly return to its original shape and form, rather than staying in place.

#3 Check the label
Acrylic is a common material used in making faux fur, keep an eye out for pieces made with the acrylic fibres kanecaron or tissavel. They’ll have the most pleasing texture and will last longer.

Fur has always been an essential item for winter collections but this year fur trend is more rock n roll than lady like. Catwalks and now high street shops are full of faux fur coats in bright rainbow colours which are perfect for a youthful and trendy look which I am totally in love with.

Colourful fur coat is definitely a statement piece which is screaming look at me! And if winter makes you sad bold colours will add a much-needed pop of colour to your winter wardrobe which will instantly make you happier.

I have noticed more faux fur about this season, a lot of lovely coats and jackets. Saw a fabulous purple one the other day. Don’t think said lady would have appreciated me going to paw at it, but I wanted to.
Loving the coat you have on, great colours.
